Short description

The classic top-down tank war, rebuilt with love for iPhone, iPhone Duo, iPad and Mac. Three hand-built campaigns and an endless mode, giant boss fights and night missions under real fog of war, with a hangar and a commander level that pays out reward after reward. The opening missions are free, and one purchase opens the Full Version. Two devices side by side can also play together with no internet. NO ADS, no subscriptions, and it plays OFFLINE: on a plane, in the metro, anywhere the signal drops.

Play Together

Two devices, one base, no internet. An iPhone, iPad or Mac links directly to the one beside it over Wi-Fi, with no server and no account, and two players defend one base on shared lives through Endless waves and boss fights. Each player drives their own tank, a heart crate brings a fallen partner back, and the pair climbs its own Game Center board. The friend joins free, and a player without the Full Version can host a five-wave trial, so a parent and a child on a flight or friends on a train can start playing in a minute.

Long description

Somewhere in a drawer is a cartridge with little tanks on the label. Steelhold is where that war went. You drive with one thumb and fire with the other, you defend a base that can actually be defended, and every brick, steel block, river and forest on the map is a decision rather than decoration.

The war runs across three campaigns and an endless mode: Steel Crusade with its daylight missions, Iron Labyrinth with night missions where you hunt by the light of your own gun, INFERNO with missions of lava, web and bone, and Endless Onslaught, where real waves keep coming until you stop. Giant boss fights sit along the way, and the bosses hunt you in different ways: a blitz shooter that never stops moving, a factory that builds its own escort, and on Hard, bosses whose shells punch through concrete.

Support arrives when you call it: airstrikes, an escort drone, an auto-turret and a one-tap rebuild of your base walls. Now and then a supply plane crosses the field and parachutes a crate down. Battlefields are alive around the fight: piers and rowboats, sagging wire, sandbags, craters, wildflowers and warm lamps along the roads. On every map a lamp or two never light. Those are not a bug.

A hangar dresses your tank with hulls, paint, glow, tracer rounds, muzzle flash, tread dust and emblems, and nothing in it is sold on its own. A commander level climbs with every mission cleared for the first time and pays out rewards all the way: new abilities, better hardware and promotions up to Marshal. Every boss beaten hangs a plate on a trophy wall, and orders earned in the campaigns make Endless runs harder and their scores bigger.

Two can hold the line. In PLAY TOGETHER an iPhone, iPad or Mac links directly to the one beside it over Wi-Fi, with no internet, no server and no account, and two players defend one base on shared lives through the Endless arenas. A heart crate brings a fallen partner back. The friend joins free, and a player without the Full Version can host a five-wave trial.

Every fight ends with a war dossier and a tank-by-tank tally, and any victory can be shared as a card. Progress lives on the device and in the player's own private iCloud, never on a developer server. Leaderboards and medals run through Apple's Game Center. Touch, a game controller and a keyboard all work, and several players can share one device.

The business model is simple. The opening missions are free and include real boss fights. One purchase opens the Full Version: all three campaigns, the endless mode and the Hard difficulty. Tips are optional and do not change how the game plays. NO ADS, no subscriptions, no energy timers. It plays OFFLINE: on a plane, in the metro, anywhere the signal drops. Game Center, iCloud sync, purchases and restores need a connection.
