Support

Answers with the exact menu paths. Anything else: write, and a real person answers.

On an upright iPhone, SETTINGS is split into tabs: SUPPORT & CONTACT is under MORE, AUDIO under SOUND.

Purchases

I bought it on another device

Open the game, tap MENU on the title screen, then SETTINGS, scroll down to SUPPORT & CONTACT and tap Restore purchases. RESTORE PURCHASES is also on the FULL VERSION screen: MENU › FULL VERSION.

The Full Version belongs to your Apple ID, not to the device, and once it is on a device it keeps working without a connection.

I have an offer code

1.3.3 Tap REDEEM CODE beside RESTORE PURCHASES on the FULL VERSION screen. Apple's offer code sheet opens, and a Full Version code unlocks the game exactly as the purchase does.

How does the free part work?

The opening missions of Steel Crusade are free: full missions with real boss fights, and they pay out your first level rewards. One purchase opens the Full Version: Steel Crusade past the free missions, Iron Labyrinth and INFERNO from their first mission, Endless Onslaught, the Hard difficulty and the Slow, Fast and Turbo game speeds. NO ADS, no subscriptions.

In PLAY TOGETHER your friend always joins free. 1.3.3 A player without the Full Version can host a five-wave trial.

I want a refund

Purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds go through them: reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple usually answers within a day or two.

What are the tips?

The tips in MENU › SETTINGS › SUPPORT & CONTACT are entirely optional, and each one says thank you in its own way. They never change how the game plays. Thank you. Seriously.

Progress and players

Where is the title screen?

A first launch drops you straight into mission 1. To reach the title screen, tap the gear at the top right of the battle, then END RUN.

Where is my progress on a new device?

Progress travels through your own private iCloud. Sign both devices in to the same Apple ID with iCloud turned on, open the game once on each while online, and give it a moment.

The further run wins, so a device that fell behind never drags a campaign backwards; only a campaign you start over on purpose begins again. Every player travels with it. The look you picked in the hangar is chosen on each device, while what you earned follows you.

Can several players share one device?

Yes. In MENU › SETTINGS, tap PLAYER to rename yourself, switch, or add another player. Each player has their own campaign, records and hangar. The Full Version and the sound settings are shared by everyone on the device.

Game Center and leaderboards

Leaderboards and medals need Game Center switched on in your device settings and a connection at the moment they are sent. The game plays OFFLINE; a medal earned offline is offered to Game Center again after your next victory with a connection.

Play together

How do we start a battle together?
  1. Put the two devices side by side, both with the latest version of the game and Wi-Fi switched on. No internet is needed.
  2. Host: on the title screen tap PLAY TOGETHER › HOST A BATTLE › OPEN BATTLE.
  3. Friend: tap PLAY TOGETHER › JOIN A FRIEND, tap JOIN on the host's battle, then READY.
  4. Host: tap START BATTLE.

The first time, each device asks to find devices on your local network: tap Allow.

1.3.3 The lobby also opens from Apple's Games app: Steelhold › Play Together › Play.

Our devices do not find each other
  • Both devices have Wi-Fi switched on. They can share a Wi-Fi network or have none at all.
  • Local Network access is on for Steelhold: on iPhone and iPad in Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network, on a Mac in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network.
  • Both devices run the latest version of the game.
  • The devices are close together, in the same room.
Who needs the Full Version?

The friend who joins never needs it. The host needs it for every arena and mode.

1.3.3 A host without the Full Version can open a five-wave free trial: a daytime battle in Mirror Pools on Easy or Medium. After wave 5 the trial ends on both devices.

What do the two devices exchange?

Only what the shared battle needs: each player's commander name, tank look and moves. It goes straight from one device to the other, never to us or anyone else, and nothing is kept after the battle.

Controls and sound

Controllers and keyboards

Pair a game controller or a keyboard in your device settings and the game picks it up. On a controller, drive with the D-pad or the left stick and fire with a face button or a trigger. On a keyboard, drive with WASD or the arrow keys and fire with Space.

1.3.3 A controller with haptics, such as DualSense, DualShock or Xbox, vibrates with the action.

Sound is acting up

Check MUSIC and SOUNDS in MENU › SETTINGS › AUDIO, and the silent mode of your device. If something still sounds wrong, write to us. A short description plus your device model is enough.

How do I turn vibration off?

1.3.3 SETTINGS › AUDIO › VIBRATE turns off vibration on the device and on the controller.
